                    Our Values

As a Covenant Community we need to hold in high regard certain Biblical values that are the building blocks of our vision. Without these values, the vision would be nothing more than mere words and would result in institutionalism. These values breathe life into the vision and sustain the quality of the vision.

The Values of God’s Manifested Presence
We believe that God’s presence is available to His worshipping people. We see this when we follow the pattern of worship seen in the Psalms (Psalm 22:3).  To enjoy God’s presence is one of our passions as a church.

The Value of Holy Spirit Activity
The baptism and the gifts of the Holy Spirit are part of our belief and practice. In both our personal and corporate life as believers, we welcome the moving of the Holy Spirit.

                    The Value of the Family
We make family life a priority, as we believe it to be the basic unit of society. The family is the place where new life comes forth, is brought to maturity and prepared to enter society. We believe that many of our society’s current problems, crises and breakdowns are directly related to the decay and erosion of the family life. We also recognize that there are Altered Families–a family unit in which either the mother or father are absent and not supporting the family due to death, separation or divorce. Our mission is to bring hope for those who grieve because of a death of a family member as well as restoration out of the brokenness of separation or divorce, and to point them toward a brighter future through the understanding that this is not the final defining event in a person’s life. Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive community for the participants to share their pain and experiences, and to walk with them as they begin to heal through Christ.

                    The Value of Marriage
We believe that all should hold marriage in honor. It is the place by which God has ordained the raising of a family. We see marriage as a committed relationship between a man and a woman: whereby two become one. This relationship is characterized by covenant love, loyalty, discipline and security.

The Value of Dynamic Spontaneous Praise and Worship
Our response to God’s presence is manifested in enthusiastic expressions of Biblical worship. Examples are the clapping of hands, the lifting of hands, and the singing of spontaneous, unrehearsed songs to the Lord.

                    The Value of Unity
Our desire for our body is not conformity, but unity of spirit and purpose. Unity allows members to express themselves in a variety of ways. It also allows us to maintain the same principles and convictions. In this way we flow together in accomplishing vision.

                    The Value of Holiness
Our desire is to be more like Jesus in character and conduct. God tells us to be holy as He is holy. True holiness is being like God, which God himself enables.

                    The Value of Fervent Prayer
There is the call of intercession on every believer. When intercession is empowered by the Holy Spirit, there is power in our church life. The key is listening to and obeying the Holy Spirit.

The Value of Reaching the Lost
We are committed to reaching our city, our nation and the world with the message of the Gospel of The Kingdom. Regardless of our gifts and calling, we have all been given the great commission. And it’s mandatory, binding and urgent.

The Value of the Spirit of Excellence
The Word of God tells us to do all things as unto the Lord. In our daily chores, in our relationships, and all our other activities, we should desire to do all for the Lord. A spirit of excellence is about our heart motives far more than our actual accomplishments.

                    The Value of Relationships
Because God is love, it’s in loving that we’re most like Him. Loving one another carries a high priority in our church. From God’s perspective, life without love is worthless.

                    The Value of Integrity
Integrity will help you make the right choice every time. It is a compass to keep us on the right path. It is lining up our belief with our thoughts, words and actions.

                    Relationships
The Value of the Kingdom of God
You were put on earth to make a contribution. In God’s kingdom you have a place, purpose and a function to fulfill: that makes your life valuable! We desire to positively influence the culture in which we live. We said to be the light to the world around us as we penetrate the political, social and educational arenas with God’s Spirit and Word.

                    The Value of Training
We believe that one of the purposes of the Church is to train up men and women into the fullness of Godly character. We therefore encourage one another to conduct ourselves with integrity, to show honor and loyalty in our relationships with one another, and to be good stewards of our resources. We encourage people to develop an attitude of serving, both to those within the Church and those without.

                    The Value of Life
We strongly oppose abortion on demand as the wanton taking of life. We likewise oppose all shedding of innocent blood and euthanasia. Each and every life is precious to God and precious to us.

                    The Value of Authority
We believe that all authority has been established by God and is itself subject to God’s authority. Subjection to authority helps us grow in wisdom and character, protecting us and giving us clear direction. God has established authority in family, in church, in secular government and in business. Each position having its own set of responsibilities, limits of authority and procedures for encouragement, correction and discipline.

                    • The Family: The family is the first unit of government in Gods social order, designed to maintain righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. The husband, assisted by his wife, has the responsibility to lead, train and discipline his children according to the principles and methods given in scripture.

                    • The Church: The Church on earth is the redeemed people of God, who are living under His delegated authority. Christ has commissioned the Church to be responsible for the education of its members and their families in all areas of life. The Church may discipline its members by correction, admonition, reproof, and if necessary, by ban from the participation in the life of the Church community.

                    • Secular Government: Secular government is given by God to preserve the peace among all people. Its purpose is to provide liberty so that all men may function quietly and effectively in their families and Churches to a full knowledge of the truth. As part of its responsibility it may punish wrongdoers with penalty of their property or person.

                    • Business: God has ordained that all may find fulfillment and joy in the work which God has called and gifted to them to do. The employer is responsible to the secular government and in turn is responsible for training, encouragement, correcting and disciplining the employees.

We believe this is our relationship as citizens and as Christians to adhere to all requirements set out before us in these areas of authority providing they do not violate God’s standard according to His Word.

                    The Value of Work
We also believe that every individual ought to be occupied in productive work or service. Some are called to full-time service in the church, others to secular employment and still others to a combination of the two. Whatever the nature of the work, it ought to be done as unto the Lord in a spirit of service to others for the purpose of supporting ourselves, our families, and those in need.

                    Conclusion
Our confessions of faith and our values are foundations for God’s continuing leadership in our lives. We realize that they do not relieve us of the responsibility to live by faith. We gratefully acknowledge those who have served Him in ages past, and we bless them in their eternal state for their faithfulness. We acknowledge those who serve Jesus Christ now, whose doctrinal expressions may be different from our own. We desire to walk with them as brothers and sisters. Our statements are not to be constructed as walls but as doors through which we may communicate with others.
